Habitat for Humanity of Wisconsin River Area (HFHWRA) seeks a full-time employee to serve as a Volunteer Coordinator/ Executive Assistant for a busy and growing affordable housing agency. The offices for our home ownership programs are in Baraboo, Wisconsin, but we serve Sauk, Columbia, and Iowa counties.
This position requires an energetic, self-motivated person capable of recruiting volunteers to serve at the following locations:
a) our two retail ReStore outlets (located in Baraboo and Portage);
b) our build sites (with locations that change every year);
c) our Baraboo housing office; and
d) at our special events (community parades, fund raisers, etc)
To successfully recruit volunteers requires a sale person's mentality, with a firm belief in the value of helping others, and in the value of home ownership.
The position also includes additional "sales work" related to promoting our affordable housing and repair programs, and helping applicants with their in-take paperwork. The ability to produce high quality promotional materials, to speak before groups, to keep accurate records on calls and activities, to work as part of team, and to promote the mission of HFHWRA are essential. A reliable vehicle, adequate insurance, and the ability to work some week-ends and evenings are required, as is a drug test, and a background check. Salary will range from $28,000 - $32,000, depending on experience - with an additional sum paid to use in a "cafeteria plan" of benefits that can include health care.
