DESCRIPTION:Free Camping for Cancer Survivors\n\nCambria\, WI   Once again Glacier Valley Campground is inviting cancer survivors to a special weekend of free RV and tent camping. This special weekend will be Friday and Saturday nights\, September 27-28\, at their destination near Cambria\, WI. This event provides an opportunity for cancer survivors and supporters to come together in a supportive environment and share their concerns and stories with a wonderful support group.\n\nDuring the day campers will decorate luminaria bags in honor of loved ones\, or themselves\, who have fought the cancer fight. This show of support is a poignant way to recognize and remember those who have faced the disease.\n\nGlacier Valley's regular 4pm Happy Hour features a laid-back atmosphere where guests can connect and forge new friendships as they enjoy complimentary popcorn. As dusk settles in\, the luminaria bags will be arranged on a rock wall. When they are lit they will provide a soft glow for attendees gathered nearby. Well-chosen music will fill the air and help set the tone for a mellow evening. Attendees have the opportunity to speak about their experiences and have others acknowledge and celebrate their journey.\n\nIn the interest of providing support and encouragement to cancer-fighting organizations\, the proceeds from a 50-50 raffle will be donated to them. Quite a few enticing silent auction items provided by many local businesses will be available for bidding   again\, with proceeds going to fight cancer.\n\nAs a two-time cancer survivor himself\, Richard Chandler knows how much the support of others means to someone fighting the disease. Rich and his wife\, Diane Thomson\, have enjoyed the support of the entire campground population as he waged his successful battle. He encourages interested individuals to contact the campground as soon as possible to secure a campsite.
