DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 28 (Rain date October 5)  10 to 12\n\nRemembrance Event\n\nJoin us in acknowledging important history as we walk the 1.25-mile route of the Fox-Wisconsin portage (Wawa'  ja)   a location of significance in Ho-Chunk forced displacement by the U.S. government. Learn about these experiences and commemorate the enduring presence of Ho-Chunks in our communities today in light of all this trail represents. Ho-chunk Nation Chief Clayton Winneshiek will make remarks at the walk's destination. Shuttle available for those who cannot walk the 2-mile round trip route. This is a free event.\n\n \n\nCo-hosted by the Ho-Chunk Nation Museum and Cultural Center.\n\n \n\nFunded in part by the Chipstone Foundation\, and Wisconsin Humanities\, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the State of Wisconsin.
