Tuesday, July 25 Bidwell Room of the Portage Public Library, 253 W. Edgewater St.
Established in historic Portage in late 2016, the vision of the Portage Area Community Fund is to continually build upon our history by embracing the future through our thoughtful and giving citizens.
The Portage Area Community Fund is dedicated to enhancing the lives of all citizens within the City of Portage and the four surrounding townships of Pacific, Fort Winnebago, Lewiston and Caledonia, as well as the areas within the formal boundaries of the Portage School District. We will do this by raising private and community funds, awarding grants and developing partnerships to strengthen and enrich our historic community for present and future generations. Key areas of interest include: civic and cultural enrichment, natural and historic preservation, parks and recreation, community development, youth and educational resources, and the needs of the community.
The Portage Area Community Fund is a new beginning, but its impact and legacy will live on in the Portage area forever! Similar to other Columbia County communities such as Rio, Columbus and Lodi, the Portage Area Community Fund is a proud affiliate of the Madison Community Foundation(MCF). We share their values of generosity, permanence, connectivity, effectiveness and integrity. Tax deductible donations are pooled to achieve a greater collective impact and invested by MCF. All investment earnings will be granted exclusively to Portage area 501(c)(3) organizations and governmental bodies, by a local volunteer Advisory Committee comprised of residents from the Portage area.
