My painting is influenced by the French Impressionists, and my professor and mentor Joann Kindt, who taught me to think outside the box with color and shapes. I paint landscapes and botanicals because of their many shapes and colors, juxtaposing bright colors against a cool blue sky or a flower’s liquid presence as after a rain. They represent nature’s ultimate sculpture. My challenge is to stay true to my style of painting without getting lost in the detail. My hope is that the viewer will get lost in my many shapes and colors.
