Portage, WI – The Portage Area Chamber of Commerce is announcing the cancellation of the 2020 Taste of Portage scheduled for August 28-29 in downtown Portage due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is just not the right time to encourage large volumes of people to converge in one area,” said President and CEO Marianne Hanson of the Portage Area Chamber of Commerce. “We care about our community, visitors and volunteers and respect the order the City of Portage has in place, as well as the recommendations of the CDC.”
Many organizations, businesses and volunteers work countless hours to bring this event to our community and there is a disappointment in canceling, Hanson added.
The Taste of Portage, which would mark 29 years this summer, has traditionally featured local food vendors, live music, a car and craft show and kid’s activities. The event draws thousands to downtown Portage over a two-day period and is an end of summer highlight for the community.
Mark your calendar for August 27 & 28, 2021.
