April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and with about 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men experiencing sexual assault in their lifetime, it's likely we all know several survivors. The Portage Public Library and Hope House invite you to learn more about sexual assault, the meaning of consent, the effects on a victim, the societal impact of sexual assault, how you can support sexual assault survivors, and more on Tuesday April 23rd from 5:30-7:00pm.
Hope House’s Teen Advocate has invited key community leaders, including the Sexual Assault Nurse Examination Coordinator at Divine Savior Healthcare and the Department of Correction Sex Offender Unit’s Field Supervisor, to answer any questions you have and educate on sexual assault services in Columbia County. Please share with anyone that may be interested in attending this free community event.
