Enduring Skills Weekend is back for a 3rd year, this time with a cultural creative arts flair.
Try your own hand at an exciting sampling of skills that have endured through the centuries or have been re-created through research and experimentation. We have a fantastic lineup of Enduring Skills stations for adults and kids ages 5 and up, including several new ones each year.
Map of the Skills Weekend Stations can be found here:
Saturday, July 29 @ 3:30pm - 19th Century Social Dancing
Gary and Karen Alexander will lead us in some simple and fun 19th century social dances, such as reels. If you can walk, turn around, and follow simple directions, you can do this! [*Bonus: Dance participants wearing 1800s-style clothing—or kids wearing their new 1830s hat or cravat from the Millinery/Haberdashery station—will get a free lemonade afterwards.]
Sunday, July 30 @ 1 pm - Performance by Salty Strings Music Ministry
John and Connie Nicholas will perform some of the popular hymns of the 1830s, accompanied by the sounds of unique historical instruments!
Bring your family and friends and make a whole day...or weekend...of it!
