Are you ready for flu season? Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory disease that can lead to serious complications, hospitalizations or even death. Anyone can get flu, even healthy people, and vaccination is the single best way to protect yourself and your family against influenza.
 
Annual influenza immunization is necessary because the influenza virus changes from year to year. The flu vaccine you got last year wasn’t designed to fight the virus strains in circulation this flu season. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends the flu vaccine as the first and most important step in preventing flu.
 
Home Health United conducts a network of seasonal public clinics in the communities we serve. We are the largest and one of the most trusted providers of flu immunizations in the area providing thousands of shots across Wisconsin every year. All our vaccines are always administered by nurses, as opposed to by a pharmacist whom you may encounter at other flu clinics. A “no shot” nasal spray is available for healthy people ages 2-49 years old coming in October.

Flu shots cost $31 and are covered by Medicare Part B and Medicaid. Medicare and Medicaid recipients MUST present all of their insurance cards at the clinic. Cash, check, VISA and MasterCard are also accepted. For those who do not want injected vaccine, FluMist®, an intranasal vaccine, is available for healthy people ages 2-49. Cost for intranasal vaccine is $33. A high dose vaccine is available for $50.
