Portage Center for the Arts is delighted to partner with Tivoli at Divine Savior Healthcare to bring original art to its residents, staff, and visitors. Join us at Tivoli for our Meet the Artist event, or anytime through the month of December. For as long as I can remember, I have had my hands in artistic mediums of all sorts. It is how I express myself and share the world, through my eyes, with those around me. When I took up photography, I found a passion for capturing Mother Nature’s design elements with my lens. Shallow depth of field is very prominent in my work. This technique allows me to guide my viewer to focus on the details that I see as vital, and brings the small details that people often miss, front and center. Color, texture, and pattern are quite common in my images; using distinctive and dramatic lighting, I am able to give my subjects a fresh and original look. Ultimately, I want my images to remind people to stop and look around; so often we miss the beauty right in front of us!
